Jay Commodities Limited is a UK registered company which specializes in research and consulting services for the global metals and mining sector. It was established in 1996 by Jay SirDeshpande.

Jay has over thirty years experience in the global metals sector.

He spent fifteen years in a variety of roles with Alcan, the third largest integrated aluminum producer worldwide. As Director of Global Metal Management he was responsible for the purchasing, trading, and hedging of primary aluminum. Jay helped develop Alcan's London Metal Exchange hedging program. He managed trading relationships with counterparties such as China Minmetals Corporation, Glencore International AG and Marubeni Corporation. Jay oversaw Alcan's joint ventures in Japan, South Africa, and Jamaica.

Jay spent five years as Managing Director of Balli Metals, the metals trading division of Balli Group Plc. He directed trading in primary aluminum, alumina, steel, copper, and zinc. He played a key role in the acquisition of businesses in the former Soviet Union, Romania and the Middle East.

Jay has focused the last decade on offering research and consulting services to the metals industry through Jay Commodities Limited. He has written articles for the LME Ringsider, Futures and Options World, Steel Business Briefing, and Metal Bulletin. He is a regular speaker at international conferences and is often quoted in industry publications.

Sammy has spent seven years with Jay Commodities researching and analyzing the base metals sector.

Prior to that he was an Associate within the Global Trading department of Scotia Capital in Toronto. He has an MA from Oxford University where he read PPE (Politics, Philosophy, and Economics).
